Switzerland County Athletics

The Switzerland County Lady Pacers made school history on Saturday, capturing the 2026 IHSAA Girls Golf Sectional 30 Championship at Sunrise Golf Course in Madison. Switzerland County finished with a team score of 372, eight strokes ahead of host Madison, which finished second with a 380. Jennings County placed third with a 395. The championship marks the first girls golf sectional title in Switzerland County school history and continues an outstanding season for the Lady Pacers, who also completed an undefeated regular season and captured their fourth consecutive Ohio River Valley Conference championship. Leading the way for Switzerland County was Alexis Mangold, who fired an 86 to earn the individual sectional championship. Mangold finished two strokes ahead of Jennings County’s Catherine Oden. The Lady Pacers also placed three golfers among the top five individuals. Paige Gregory finished fourth overall with a 93, while Brinley Bear tied for fifth with a 95. Payton Stow added a 98 to round out Switzerland County’s four counting scores, while Raven Ashcraft finished with a 119.
