MARENGO, Ind. — The Switzerland County Pacers turned in a dominant performance Friday night, traveling to Marengo and defeating the Crawford County Wolfpack, 42-7. The Pacers wasted little time establishing control, scoring 14 points in each of the first three quarters before shutting out Crawford County in the fourth. Switzerland County led 14-0 after one quarter, 28-0 at halftime and 42-7 heading into the final period. Switzerland County's offense was productive throughout the night, piling up 410 total yards on 41 plays, compared with just 125 yards on 32 plays for the Wolfpack. The Pacers also dominated the first-down battle, 21-3. Switzerland County finished with 254 rushing yards and 156 passing yards. Quarterback Aiden Mosley led the way through the air, completing 5 of 7 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns, including a long completion of 46 yards. Mosley also contributed 155 of the Pacers' 156 passing yards. The Pacers' ground attack was paced by sophomore newcomer Aiden Greene, who rushed seven times for 102 yards in his debut performance. Haiden Rohrbach added 47 yards on six carries, while Brackston Sullivan rushed five times for 41 yards. Slade Parks added 29 rushing yards and two touchdowns on five carries. Mosley's favorite target was Masin Stroud, who hauled in three passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns, including a 46-yard reception. Nehemiah Holliday added a 36-yard touchdown reception, while Greene contributed a 23-yard catch. Switzerland County also received a strong special-teams performance from Stroud, who averaged 51 yards on his lone kickoff return and returned five punts for a total of 31 yards. Lane Turner was a perfect 5-for-5 on extra-point attempts, while Mason Hempfling added another successful PAT. Defensively, the Pacers limited Crawford County to only three first downs and forced one turnover. Hayden Rohrbach led Switzerland County with five tackles and an assist. Grayson Levell recorded four tackles and three tackles for loss, while Greene added four tackles and a tackle for loss. Braylon Barnes finished with three tackles, two assists and two tackles for loss. “I'm really proud of the way our young guys stepped up and competed tonight", Switzerland County Head Coach Ryan Jesop said. "A lot of the credit goes to our coaching staff and the time and effort they have put in preparing these kids. We still have a lot of things we need to clean up, and we're far from where we want to be, but that's what makes this a good starting point. You always want to start the season with a win, and we're happy to get one tonight. Now we have to get back to work, correct the mistakes, and continue getting better.” Crawford County's lone touchdown came in the third quarter, when the Wolfpack finally broke onto the scoreboard, with the JV defense of Switzerland County on the field, as the game was in a running clock phase and well out of hand. The Wolfpack finished the night with 125 rushing yards and no passing yardage recorded in the team totals. The Pacers' 42-point performance was fueled by balance and efficiency, with Switzerland County averaging roughly 10 yards per play while converting 2 of 4 third-down opportunities. Crawford County managed just 1-of-9 on third down. For Switzerland County, Friday night's victory was a statement performance on both sides of the football, as the Pacers controlled the line of scrimmage, produced explosive plays through the air and on the ground, and kept the Wolfpack's offense largely contained throughout the evening.
